Jay Brouwez has been building homes in the Port Perry area for over 12
years, and brings with him a total of 24 years
experience. Previously known as JB Country Homes,
Jay recently undertook a name change to incorporate the future.
The name JAYDAN HOMES was created when Jay recognized his son Daniel’s
interest
in the business.
Daniel has been to every job site and is quickly learning the business
along side his father.
Born in South Africa, Jay Brouwez learned his trade after serving his
country in the army. He travelled to Europe,
continued to learn the necessary skills and made his way to North
America. Jay eventually settled in Port Perry,
a place the avid fisherman is proud to call home. Jay has developed key
guidelines that they follow;
first and foremost, communicating with the client, as there needs to be
a bond and a relationship
with some trust. Jay personally meets with the client at
least twice a week to keep the client up to date on the team’s
progress. If they are running behind due to unforeseen circumstances
(weather etc.) they
will do their best to bring the project back within the scheduled
timeline (ie. work weekends and/or bring in extra staff).
Secondly, JAYDAN HOMES likes to hire local, qualified and reliable
sub-contractors as well as utilizing local
lumber yards for the majority of materials. Hiring/buying local helps
keep the project on schedule and creates
pride in the community.
Third, when the work is done he doesn’t want to go back, unless it’s
for a friendly visit. He does it right the
first time, something the client truly appreciates.
Lastly, “the key is to enjoy what you’re doing, every day is a new
challenge and an opportunity to learn something
new”.
Whether you are looking to build your dream home, restore a home to a
new glory or add on additional living space,
JAYDAN HOMES has the passion and ability to create your vision.
Making major home improvements can be a daunting commitment, and unless
you are highly skilled in electrical
wiring, plumbing, and construction, you should turn to professionals to
get the job done right. But finding the
appropriate professionals to help you complete the job can be a major
job in itself. If you are considering a
major home improvement project, you need to determine what exactly you
want done. Hiring a General Contractor
can save you in time and money.
General Contracting Services
General contractors are responsible for managing all aspects of your
project, including hiring and supervising
subcontractors, getting building permits, ordering supplies, and
scheduling inspections. These contractors
oversee all the subcontractors, such as plumbers, carpenters, and
painters, to ensure that the job is done
efficiently and to your satisfaction. They will act as your main
contact throughout the project, and should be
able to both explain any step of the work you need to know about as
well as communicate your specific ideas for
the project to the appropriate service provider.
Benefits of Hiring a General Contractor
Hiring a general contractor is usually done for convenience and
efficiency. In nearly any circumstance, these
contractors will save you time, on the project's duration. The hassle
of having half a dozen contractors in
your home is a bad enough, but without a guiding force, it can quickly
become a nightmare. There is a logical
order to coordinating each sub trade, without this knowledge, you can
add time and expense to your project.
Many subcontractors will charge a higher rate or charge per hour when
they have to coordinate their work on a
large project directly through the homeowner. Moreover, general
contracting services also usually include access
to products bought in bulk that individual homeowners might have to
purchase at a higher price. This will get you
a better deal on materials, and will give your job the customized look
you desire.
